We are a group based in Lympstone, a village of about 2,000 in East Devon. Our aim
is to enable people in our village to experience professional, dramatic and musical
performances at a price that is affordable to them.
The group was founded in 2006 by Harland Walshaw and John Welton. Since then, often
with the support of Villages in Action, we have organised a range of events, musical,
dramatic, literary, serious and comic, either in the village hall or parish church.
This year amongst other events we have had the Angel Heart Puppets performing Freya,
a Viking saga, and The Cygnet Theatre ‘s performance of The Winter’s Tale in a beautiful
Lympstone garden. Forthcoming events include The Village Concert, An Evening of Blues,
Ragtime and Hot Jazz with The Pocket Orchestra, and Steve Knightley in concert with
The Exmouth Shanty Men.
We keep our audiences informed through our email newsletter, Drumbeat. If you’d like
your name added to our circulation list, just email us giving your name, email address
and telephone number.
